MG HS Plug-in
If you fancy an electric car, the MG HS Plug-In bridges the gap between petrol and electric with an innovative plug-in hybrid powertrain. This pairs a 1.5 turbocharged petrol engine with a 90kW electric motor and a 16.6 kWh battery. It can drive on electric power alone for up to 32 miles in EV mode, or you can run the electric motor and engine together to enjoy a thumping 254bhp and 370Nm of torque. Excite and Exclusive grades are available. MG Pilot with Intelligent Speed Limit Assist and blind spot monitoring, a 360° degree camera and a 10.1” touchscreen with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto come as standard. Exclusive models boast an electric tailgate, a panoramic roof and customisable ambient interior lighting.
HS Plug-in Features
EV mode
EV mode uses the 90kW electric motor and 16.6 kWh battery for power, delivering up to 32 miles of range. In this mode, you won’t use any petrol, and when the battery runs low, it automatically switches to Hybrid mode.
Charging
The MG HS Plug-In supports fast charging up to 7kW, which is the most common output for home chargers. A 7kW charger will top up the battery to 100% in around 3 hours, or to 80% in around 2 and a half hours.
Fuel economy
The MG HS Plug-In delivers a WLTP combined fuel economy figure of 155.8mpg with 43g/km of CO2. This is an impressive figure. Most people will be able to achieve over 60mpg combined every day.
Driving experience
In EV mode, the MG HS Plug-In is smooth and refined. It can automate aspects of your journey thanks to MG Pilot, and when you use the petrol engine, it delivers serious performance with 254bhp and 370Nm of torque.

MG Pilot
A standard feature across the range, MG Pilot includes Active Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Bicycle Detection, Lane Keep Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Detection.
10.1” touchscreen
The 10.1” touchscreen is a joy to use and it has Apple CarPlay & Android Auto so you can run apps on it. Additional connectivity features include wireless phone charging, USB ports and Bluetooth for media and calls.
Easy parking
The MG HS Plug-In makes manoeuvres a piece of cake with a 360° camera and rear parking sensors. The camera activates when you select reverse gear, or you can activate it manually at the press of a button.
Digital driver’s display
In addition to the 10.1” touchscreen, the MG HS Plug-In has a 12” fully digital driver’s display. You can customise this to display different information like economy and driving data, or navigation directions.
